Small harbours in the Western Cape have received a R501 million investment to date, says the Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Sihle Zikalala. He made this pronouncement when he toured the Saldanha and Hout Bay harbour upgrade projects last week.
The appalling state of small harbours countrywide has been criticised for years. But now the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure says it has spent R501 million on rebuilding and refurbishing them. This is the same information provided by former Minister Patricia De Lille last year.
