Namibia. A Seabird Success Story for Conservation

Namibia’s hake demersal longline fishery has reduced seabird mortality by 98%. This is a huge success story for conservation and for the Southern African region.

This effort is documented in a new paper titled: Reduction in seabird mortality in Namibian fisheries following the introduction of bycatch regulation. It has been published in ScienceDirect.
