Appeal Against Decision for Small Scale Fishery Sector in Squid Fishery

Whilst the South African Squid Management Industrial Association now has the right to appeal the Pangarker AJ judgement in High Court Case No. 9873/2002 this matter prolongs achievement of predictable stability in the Small-scale fisheries Sector. In 2021, for the first time in South Africa’s history, SSFS Co-Operatives were apportioned access to 15% of the total allowable effort for the squid fishery.
