Did you know there's an African Penguin & Seabird Sanctuary at Gansbaai? It provides rehabilitative care to diseased, displaced, injured, oiled and abandoned marine birds. It is funded by the Dyer Island Conservation Trust.

BirdLife South Africa and the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB), represented by the Biodiversity Law Centre, have filed a further replying affidavit in the landmark litigation against the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment to protect African Penguins.
