AOC Backs Marine Safety as it Prepares for Inaugural African Indaba

The African Oceans Council (AOC) is supporting the call by Transport minister, Barbara Creecy, for the South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) to conduct urgent safety inspections on all commercial fishing vessels operating in South Africa. In fact, there is an understanding that most fishing vessels flying the South African flag are outdated and that a solution needs to be found to bring them up to standard.
