Aquaculture is on the lips of many this week attending the 15th Aquaculture Association of South Africa conference at the University of Stellenbosch. The South African government has identified aquaculture as a priority for the country and the African continent and it should be. Up until now there has been considerable effort and massive amounts of money poured into projects, some of which have been successful, and many not. The question is how can innovation be redefined to grow a sustainable aquaculture industry?
