The new Minister for Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Dr Dion George, apparently wants to settle the dispute that is raging about the demise of the endangered African penguin populations and the closure of the islands to fishing activity. According to a statement on social media, he would prefer an out of court settlement with conservation groups. What this means for the small pelagic fishing sector is not clarified.
