The African Development Bank Group has approved a USD 1 billion (about R18.85 billion) corporate loan to Transnet, South Africa’s major freight transport and logistics company, to bolster its recovery and growth plans. This leap of faith in rescuing the organisation from its current underperformance is with a view to addressing operational inefficiencies, particularly in its rail and port sectors.
