The pricing of fish isn’t just a thumb suck. Across the hake industry there is great pressure to fully utilise the global total allowable catch, to take what is legally and sustainably allowed, to pay operational expenses and to maximise profits, and to ensure the continuity of the MSC certification of the fishery. Fishing companies cannot afford to not realise revenue that is actually due to them.
