Namibia’s MFV Seamount Explorer Restored

The MFV Seamount Explorer which was involved in a collision that caused significant structural damage to the bow of the vessel on 2 November last year, was recently restored.

The MFV Seamount Explorer is a factory trawler that was built 37 years ago and is sailing under the flag of Namibia. She forms part of the fishing fleet at Seawork Fish Processors. Her carrying capacity is 345 dwt and her current draught is reported to be 13 metres. Her length overall (LOA) is 44 metres, and her width is 10.6 metres.
