Marine Ingredients Development and Trends to Look Out For

The IFFO – Marine Ingredients Organisation Annual Conference was held in Cape Town recently. Almost 400 delegates from the marine ingredients industry around the world attended the event. Across three days, topics for discussion included the strategic use of marine ingredients, precision nutrition, feed footprints, traceability, market trends, and wider opportunities and challenges.

Fact is that the African continent faces many challenges related to food insecurity. These challenges are compounded by the war in Ukraine, supply chain shortages, conflict, and drought. Research indicates there is a need to change how food is produced, traded, and consumed, so that the focus is more on delivering nutritional quality rather than quantity.
