An international panel of experts has been appointed to advise on the way forward to resolve a dispute between the small pelagic fishery, the science community and bird conservationists. This is related to the conservation of the endangered African penguin and follows the no-fishing extension around South Africa’s major penguin colonies to mid-April 2023.
