Between 1965 and 1967, almost two dozen 73 foot purse seiners were built for the South African and Namibian fishing industries by Cape Town-based boat builder, Maritime Industries (Pty) Ltd. At the time of writing this article for the April 2013 issue of Fishing Industry News Southern Africa, they were still afloat, some 47 years later!
