TotalEnergies previously commissioned the Odfjell rig for a drilling campaign in South Africa. The company has also used the Deepsea Stavenger. It is currently not known which drillship it is using for the exploration of the South West Coast Block.

The deadline is looming for the fishing industry to comment on TotalEnergies EP South Africa Block 5/6/7 (Pty) Ltd (TEEPSA) latest plans to explore for hydrocarbons on the south west coast.
