The coastline of Mozambique’s Inhambane Province remains relatively unspoilt, but not for long if recent increases in fishing pressure are maintained. Some scientists and researchers are working hard towards safe guarding significant marine megafauna populations.
What makes this stretch of coastline so special is its thriving biodiversity, ecological value, extraordinary beauty, and natural heritage. So much so that the area is rated by the IUCN as a Globally Outstanding marine conservation area and acknowledged as a potential world heritage site by UNESCO.
