Torrential rain in many parts of South Africa over the past few weeks might have contributed to the misery of thousands of people, but it has boosted water levels in most dams.
Reporting on the weekly status of reservoirs, the Department of Water and Sanitation, says the water levels have improved marginally, dam levels have risen too, and the overall storage capacity of the country’s water levels now sits at 95.2%. One exception is the Eastern Cape which declined slightly.
