Hurry Up and Wait. Seismic Surveying Judgement Expected “Soon”

Judgement has been reserved in the court case brought by Sustaining Wild Coast NPC, Mashona Dlamini, Dwesa-Cwebe Communal Property Association and four Others against South Africa’s Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy and Others. They are objecting to Shell Exploration and Production South Africa’s seismic surveying of potential oil and gas reserves on the KwaZulu Natal Wild Coast.

There is no indication when this will be delivered other than it will be “soon”.

This is the second application for an interdict following the unsuccessful attempt by Border Deep Sea Angling Association, Kei Mouth Ski Boat Club, Natural Justice and Greenpeace Environmental Organisation in the High Court of South Africa (Eastern Cape Division, Makanda (Grahamstown) earlier this month.
