A South African-flagged longliner has been included on the CCAMLR’s 2021/22 Provisional Contracting Party (CP) IUU Fishing Vessel List.
The MFV El Shaddai (IMO 8025082) is currently under investigation by the South African authorities for illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing activity. It is understood that there has allegedly been four incidents of non-compliance in the first half of this year, but also repeated transgressions since 2015.
