The South African Maritime Safety Authority (SAMSA) has appointed forensic investigators to probe allegations of misconduct and whistle blowing reports received form external and internal stakeholders.
In a statement yesterday, SAMSA says the appointment of Morar Incorporated, a chartered accounting and auditing firm, follows a SAMSA Board resolution to conduct thorough investigations of critical aspects of the SAMSA business and conduct of management.
This follows the precautionary suspension earlier this year of three senior staff, namely Chief Operations Officer, Mr Sobantu Tilayi, Company Secretary, Mr Moyahabo Raphadu, and Chief Human Capital Officer, Ms Lesego Mashishi.
