A prototype of an autonomous solar boat that will be able to determine the heath of the ocean and possibly predict where the fish are, will soon undergo sea trials.

The solar boat is a pilot project of the South African International Maritime Institute (SAIMI)-funded Marine Robotics Centre based at Nelson Mandela University, Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth).
