The controversy around the regulation of trout continues. Recently, the Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment omitted South Africa’s two species of trout from the Alien and Invasive Species list. It is not that she doesn’t plan to add them, but rather that more time is needed for consultation with the trout industry.
