Support for Namibia’s Fishing Right Allocations, Second Quota Auction Soon

Namibia’s commercial fishing industry, supported by the Confederation of Namibian Fishing Associations, is reportedly pleased about the manner in which the long term right allocations were done. This despite Fisheries and Marine Resources Minister, Albert Kawana, keeping the industry and other right applicants waiting for three years before allocating 298 rights which leaves the balance of the 5176 applicants out in the cold. Of interest is the list of beneficiaries linked to the successful applicants… and the announcement of a second quota auction.
