South Africa’s hake fishing sectors have been granted an exemption to continue catching their 2020 quota that was uncaught due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Department of Environment, Forestry & Fisheries agreed to rollover the uncaught hake allocated in the hake deep sea trawl, hake inshore trawl and hake longline fishing sectors.
