Mozambique. More Focus on Aquaculture, Distant Fishing

Mozambique’s government has big plans to develop its aquaculture industry. It also seems to be encouraging distant fishing.

The goal is to address food insecurity in the country. This has been brought about by security threats, illegal fishing and climate change events such as cyclones Idai and Kenneth. Growth of an aquaculture industry will also offset the pressure on the commercial marine fishing sector.
