Food Safety. Tinned Pilchard Brands Recalled

West Coast cannery, West Point Processors, has notified the retail industry that some of its 400g canned pilchards in tomato sauce product could be suspect.

According to a statement released by Shoprite Checkers, it received the notice late yesterday requesting the product be recalled. The notice says “there is a small possibility that some tins may have a canning deficiency which could make the product unfit for consumption.”
