RED-listed fish are finding their way onto restaurant menus but patrons must realise they are equally responsible for ensuring they don’t eat the fish on offer if they fall into this category.
WWF-SASSI has spent years promoting its sustainable seafood initiative. The campaign’s impact has been significant but the species listed in the RED, ORANGE and GREEN categories are not static. Therefore, consumers are urged to double check the status of fish species and not to confuse traceability with sustainability.
