Corruption Watch. Investigation at DAFF

The Public Service Commission has begun with an investigation into the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

This follows receipt of numerous complaints related to the Director General, (DG), Mike Mlengana; the Deputy Director General: Fisheries, Siphokazi Ndudane, and other complaints lodged by various interested parties. Some of these complaints have previously been brought to the attention of the Minister.

The complaints were also previously lodged with the Public Protector, Auditor General and the Hawks and relate to allegations of tender fraud, factional wars between senior officials in the department, and allegedly irregularly awarded fishing licence tenders, especially for abalone.
