Taking Back the Sea. The Real Lives of Chokka Fishers

South Africa’s chokka squid fishers finally have a chance to tell their stories thanks to an initiative by the Eastern Cape Black Fishers Association working with Integrated Post-school Education and Training, linked to Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth.

A new booklet titled “Let us not be slaves until we die: the lives of chokka fishers” written by researchers Irna Senekal and Oyama Mkaza, will be launched on 20 October 2018.
