The Sea Harvest / Viking Fishing deal which the South African fishing industry has been waiting the outcome of since December 2017, has received the nod from the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (DAFF).
The deal has been approved in its entirety according to a statement issued by DAFF this week. This means that the transfer of 34 separate fishing rights across nine sectors to the purchasing consortium companies, has been authorised.
