Phosphate Mining, New Scorecard and Equity Participation

Marine phosphate mining is back on the table. The Windhoek Observer newspaper stated in a surprise revelation it was in possession of documents that showed the Attorney General, Sackeus Shanghala was eager to proceed. The Namibian government is keen on equity participation and recently Erongo Marine Enterprises of Walvis Bay made history by becoming one of the first fishing companies to introduce a Workers’ Trust.
